SNOW DAY LEARNING ![]()
Another snow day to begin the New Year 2025!
Here are some home learning activities for you to do today (Tuesday 7th January). Work from the previous closure day has been left on below this.
ENGLISH : Write a story!
Snowflake Photographer
(Inside Science) -- Snowflakes. They are beautiful and fragile -- and very difficult to photograph. But that didn't stop one scientist from trying. Can you imagine how hard it would be to photograph a teeny-tiny, individual snowflake crystal? Then imagine the challenges that Wilson Bentley faced back in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
SCIENCE : Have a try at doing this frozen bubble experiment
You will need:
1 cup water
2 tablespoons washing up liquid
2 tablespoons glycerine
a drinking straw
a very still area outside in below 00 C (this doesn't work if there is a breeze)
Ice Bubble Magic: with watermark
This is a compilation of many ice bubbles, some stay while others last for only a few seconds. They're fragile, mystical creatures, so sit back and enjoy Mother Nature's endless magic.
